In my youth I had the attitude that “real musicians” didn’t need a guitar tuner. We could tune by ear without any device. Now I couldn’t imagine traveling and playing guitar without having several guitar tuners in my arsenal. They make it quick and easy to get my guitar perfectly in tune so I can get down to making beautiful music.

I had that small Korg tuner. I liked it but the clip on mechanism was very cheap plastic and didn’t work well and broke very quickly. That was a few years ago so unless they’ve improved that I wouldn’t waste my money on one.

Hi! I might be out of topic but I’m wondering if it is acceptable that machine heads have a play when I turn them to one side to the other.

Thanks for making and sharing this video. I’d love to see you teach how to tune by ear using harmonics. I tune by ear by fretting at the 5th (and then the 4th). But I saw a dude use harmonics to ensure strings were in pitch with one another and I thought that was really cool.
